Today we were guests of the mayoress in Lodz. With a warm welcome we are pleased to present our Ersasmus + project "Say no to NEET". The five countries Austria, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain showed their idea of their European Community and strategic ideas of the project.
Six students of our school are glad to join the Erasmus+ project in Poland „Say no to Neet“. They have studied about The state to know the geography and the History culture and traditions of The land they are going to visit.
Then they began to study about the topic of the meeting: the jobs interviews, and each of The chose the job they like to do. In order to apply for a job, they learnt to write a CV and cover letters so they discovered their skills and what are the responsibilities a person has in doing a job. Students made researches about traditional and non traditional jobs in our country. We have had a Short brainstorming session and then they decided to present Electrician, Dentist, Speech therapist, and Postwoman profession. It has been very exting for The students to get in touch with The students hosting them in Poland. Something changed also in our school because we have adopted the career guidance curriculum. The Portuguese Erasmus Team has prepared all the activities planned for the Teaching and Learning Activity, in Lodz, Poland since the beginning of the school year, for the first meeting of the second year of the project ERASMUS+ “Say no to NEET”.
The students had prepared the introductions to their peers, the presentations for the meeting, written reports, the cover letters and the Europass CVs, searched information about the agreed issues, prepared themselves for the jobs interviews and other tasks. All the activities were done in group work, students helped each other and debated their ideas in a great work environment. The students fulfilled all the activities planned with motivation and hard working enrolment. Here in Poland, we have been really busy bees recently.
We have managed to deal with lots of tasks for our ‘Say no to NEET’ project. The group divided themselves into four groups to start working on the presentations ‘Traditional and non-traditional jobs in our country’. We have had a short brainstorming session on the concept. Then, decided to present an embalmer and a life coach as non-traditional ones while a watchmaker and a purse maker as traditional ones. Next, we focused on the essays ‘Where I see myself in 10 years time’. That was not an easy task. The students needed some thinking on their future. We decided to do some quizzes to check our career skills. We have used the following websites:
After the first year and some deserved holidays. Students have started again with the project. They have been working on the skills and requirements for the labour market and have used ICT tools for such purpose. They have written some reflexions about their future in five/ten years ans also some research on types of jobs hss been carried out.
Six students from the NMS Kohfidisch, Austria are really happy being part of the European project SAY "NOT TO NEET" - Erasmus+school to school. In the last weeks they were working hard and found it extremely challenging working on that tough topic that hopefully won´t hit them.
Our students came up with short videos which can be found here: https://padlet.com/irene_seier/teamlodz Students started to get to know some basic facts about Poland. They found out several facts about the country that has many things in common: at least some dishes from former days!
They finally created a poster for the Erasmus corner, which they also updated. |
